Kurt Kitziger Jr, MD

A Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate from Duke University, Dr. Kitziger earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans. At LSUMC, Dr. Kitziger was elected to the AOA Medical Honor Society, received the Lange Outstanding Student Award, and served as editor of the school newspaper.

Dr. Kitziger completed his orthopaedic residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio under Dr. Charles Rockwood. Following his residency, Dr. Kitziger was awarded a fellowship in reconstructive hip and knee surgery at the renowned Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania under Drs. Paul Lotke and Marvin Steinberg.

Dr. Kitziger is a board-certified member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has been elected to membership in the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and the Clinical Orthopaedic Society. He has held clinical appointments at Tulane University Medical Center and LSU Medical Center, and is the author of numerous articles and book chapters. He is an editorial board member of the journal Orthopedics as an expert in the field of hip and knee surgery.

Dr. Kitziger and his wife Leslie have four children and three grandchildren. His interests include music, cycling, cooking, camping, Duke basketball and traveling with his wife across the country to see his children and grandchildren.
